Lives in Graphite Terms and Conditions
Here is a guide to the terms and conditions of commissioning a Lives in Graphite portrait. Ultimately, I want you to be 100% happy with your commission service and final portrait, so whatever issues may arise, we can work together to resolve them.
Lives in Graphite Guarantee
I want you to be absolutely thrilled with your portrait commission, so if you are not completely satisfied for any reason, we can discuss the issues and come to a resolution. I remain in contact with you throughout the drawing process to offer opportunities to make adjustments and corrections, and only dispatch your finished portrait when you have confirmed you’re completely happy with it. If your portrait were to be lost or damaged in transit, a full refund or replacement portrait will be offered.
Pricing and Payments
Prices are shown in sterling. Payments can be made via Internet bank transfer (BACS) or via PayPal – details of payment methods will be included in your commission invoices.
I charge a non-refundable 50% deposit on acceptance of a commission, with the balance payable on completion prior to dispatch. You receive a photograph or scan of your final portrait to ensure you are 100% happy with it before accepting the balance payment.
I am not VAT registered.
In the event of a price rise, I will always honour the price shown on the website at the time a portrait is commission – this being once I have received the reference photographs and the 50% deposit has been cleared.
As customers of Lives in Graphite, I only collect personal information that is necessary to process commissions as requested. All personal details, contact details and photographs are kept strictly confidential. If you’d like to read full legal terms and disclaimers for the website including use of submitted information and cookies, please take a look at website privacy page.

As the artist of Lives in Graphite, I retain full copyright on all portraits I produced and reserve the right to use them for promotional material. If you would rather not have your portrait or testimonial displayed on the website or social media, please make this clear upon ordering your commission. I am happy for all customers of Lives in Graphite to use their portraits for non-commercial purposes, but I do kindly request you contact me to seek permission prior to making any print reproductions, as clearly stated on your Certificate of Authenticity. You are welcome to share photographs of your portrait on social media, just don’t forget to include a link to the Lives in Graphite website!
